ROCKMAGZ.ID – Madrotter (aka Henk Den Toom Jr.) inspired our mix series. In 2018, he returned to Holland to spin Jaipong tracks before a Karinding Attack show in Rotterdam. Upon returning to Bandung, we asked him to create a mix of his favorite Jaipong tracks. He obliged and our series began. We’re happy to be working with him again. His newest mix features some of his favorite traditional and neo-traditional dance traks from across Indonesia. The mix streamed live last Tuesday, on the 100.000 show on Internet Public Radio show and is now archived. Link below.

Coming up in August, new mixes from Joee Mejias (Manilla), Ala Muerte (New York) and Tekknovoid (Bandung)!

Madrotter’s Bio
Madrotter (aka Henk Den Toom Jr.) is a music lovin’, crate diggin’ Dutch national who has made West Java his home since 1996. He runs Madrotter Treasure Hunt, a free, online music archive that hosts thousands of digitized cassettes and vinyl from his years of collecting and research.

Making music since 1978, Den Toom Jr. started as a drummer in punk bands before jumping to experimental hip hop around 1986. From the late 1990’s through the 2010’s , Madrotter was an integral part of the Bandung hip-hop scene, producing tracks for some of Indonesia’s biggest, underground MCs. His newest mix features some of his favorite traditional and neo-traditional dance tracks from Indonesia.
